Davis, Peterson, Kellett and Missimo Highlight All-Big 12 Honors

Irving, Texas — Texas Tech senior Kirsten Davis collects her second postseason award as the Big 12 Soccer Offensive Player of the Year and Texas midfielder Lexi Missimo receives Freshman of the Year honors. TCU was well represented in the Conference postseason awards as Brandi Peterson and Lauren Kellett were voted the Defensive Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year, respectively, while Horned Frogs head coach Eric Bell received Coach of the Year accolades.

After winning the same award in 2019, Davis earned Texas Tech's fourth Offensive Player of the Year honor. The St. Louis, Missouri native finished the regular season on top of the league in points (34) and goals (14). Davis received Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 28 and was named National Player of the Week the next day. A Texas Tech captain for the second year, Davis has recorded 45 career goals during her five years on the Red Raiders' squad.

Missimo gives Texas its seventh rookie of the year merit. The Southlake, Texas native led the Big 12 in shots (81) and assists (10) after regular season play and tallied nine goals. The freshman now owns 12 career goals, 15 career assists and 39 career points over her first 22 collegiate matches. She became the fastest Longhorns player to reach 10 goals in program history (12 matches), breaking former Longhorns All-American Kelly Wilson's (2001) record by one match.

Peterson and Kellett pick up TCU's third and fourth Player of the Year honors after teammates Grace Collins (2020 Offensive Player of the Year) and former teammate Emily Alvarado (2020 Goalkeeper of the Year) received the first two honors last season. The TCU defense has limited opponents to 10 goals and has combined for 10 shutouts during the regular season, nine of which came with Kellett between the posts. The sophomore totaled 63 saves over 18 games this season, averaging 3.5 per match.

Meanwhile, Peterson has anchored the TCU defense, earning five Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week awards this season. The Atlanta senior has logged 1,557 minutes on the pitch for the Frogs during the regular season and was responsible for the game-winner against then-No. 9 Texas A&M earlier in the fall, recording her second-career goal.

Bell was named Coach of the Year for a second-straight season, leading TCU to back-to-back regular season titles. The 10th-year head coach has led the Horned Frogs to five consecutive NCAA Tournaments.
