NO. 10 IOWA STATE CYCLONES
Head Coach Wayne Morgan
Opening Statement:
"We are really looking forward to the game and the competition tomorrow. The kids have worked hard and are very confident and positive. I think we will have a great effort. Oklahoma State, we have respect for their program and it will be a tremendously good game tomorrow."
On thoughts about program heading in the right direction:
"I think we are more than headed in the right direction, I think our program is hitting the right cylinders and doing very well and I think we will do better in the future."
On what is the key for playing well:
"Number one, when Rahshon Clark has a good game and the other when our big guys have a good game and a lot of times in terms of our big guys that means rebounding the ball. Our guards are pretty consistent, night in and night out."
Junior Guard Will Blalock
On mindset of the tournament:
"I think that we have a winning record, but at the same time we are not coming here for a vacation. We are tryig to win four games to try to get to the NCAA Tournament and if not then we will try to finish the year strong with an NIT bid, if anything."
On playing OSU guards:
"They are young, but they are very talented as far as JamesOn Curry, Eaton and Boggan. We just really try to, like you said, harass them on the perimeter as much as we could because we are experienced guards and we know what it takes."
Junior Guard Curtis Stinson
On what turned around the game in last game versus OSU:
"We started off pretty slow and we tried to come out aggressive after a timeout and just play defense and that's what would get us going. We would try to get an open court and easy basket and make our shots."
