Pacific Life Extends Sponsorship with Holiday Bowl

SAN DIEGO, CALIF.--Pacific Life Insurance Company has extended their title sponsorship of San Diego's Pacific Life Holiday Bowl, 2007 Bowl President Rudy Castruita announced today. The extension is for sponsorship through the 2009 contest. Financial terms were not disclosed. Pacific Life has been title sponsor of the bowl game since 2002.

"The bowl game has been extremely fortunate to have such a prestigious company as Pacific Life serving as its title sponsor," said Castruita. "We are very proud that our efforts merit their investment for at least three more years."

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our relationship with the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl," said Bob Haskell, senior vice president of public affairs, Pacific Life. "The competition and pageantry of the game makes this a must-see bowl game every December. We are looking forward to the next three years as title sponsor of the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl."

In the five years of Pacific Life's title sponsorship, the average attendance for the game is 62,268. The average ESPN television rating for the five games is 4.46. Last year's game featured a 45-10 California Golden Bears victory over the Texas A&M Aggies in front of 62,395 fans and 3,786,241 ESPN viewer households.

The Pacific Life Holiday Bowl was established in 1978 and is a non-profit organization whose mission is to generate tourism, exposure, economic benefit and civic pride for San Diego and its citizens by producing the nation's most exciting bowl game and festival of events.

The 30th annual Pacific Life Holiday Bowl kicks off Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 5 p.m. and features the runner-up from the Pac-10 Conference against the third selection from the Big 12 Conference. The game is played at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium.
