Nebraska?s Jared Crick Garners Multiple Honors

Nebraska defensive tackle Jared Crick has been honored on both the conference and national levels for his record-setting performance in last week's victory over Baylor.

Crick was named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week and the FWAA/Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week after earning Big 12 weekly defensive honors.

The sophomore racked up seven tackles for loss, tying the Nebraska school record set by All-American Jim Skow against Missouri in 1985. Crick finished the game with 13 total tackles, including 10 solo stops, the most total tackles by an NU defensive lineman since 2002. He added a fumble recovery and a pass breakup as the blackshirt defense held the Baylor offense out of the end zone.

His five sacks in a game set a Nebraska school record and are the most in a single game by any player in the nation this season. He is the second Husker tackle to be named Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the week after Ndamukong Suh was recognized earlier this season.
