Monica Dolinsky (Kansas), Bri Young (Texas A&M) and Amanda Woelfel (Iowa State) were selected as Big 12 Soccer Players of the Week for games played from Sept. 4-7, the conference office announced. Young and Woelfel earned the weekly honor for the first time, while Dolinsky was recognized for the second time in her career. 

Offensive Player of the Week
Moncia Dolinsky, Kansas, MF, Sr., Carmel, Ind.
Dolinksy produced a combined two goals on seven shots while scoring six points over the weekend in Kansas’ two victories. She also added a pair of assists. In the Jayhawks’ 3-1 win against Rhode Island, Dolinksy scored the game-winning goal to keep KU undefeated through non-conference play. She currently leads the team wtih three assists and is second with seven points.

Defensive Player of the Week
Bri Young, Texas A&M, D, So., Castle Pines North, Colo.
Young aided the Texas A&M defense in holding both opponents, No. 14 California and Saint Mary’s, to a combined four shots on goal and two goals against. Young also contributed offensively in the Aggies’ 2-1 victory against Saint Mary’s. She offered an assist on one goal and then scored the game-winning goal.

Newcomer of the Week
Amanda Woelfel, Iowa State, MF, Fr., Omaha, Neb. 
In the Cyclones’ two victories over the weekend, Woelfel tallied two goals, four points, five shots on goal and a 1.000 shots-on-goal percentage. Woelfel scored both of her goals, including the gamewinner, in Iowa State’s 3-1 win over No. 20 DePaul. The two goals were the first in her collegiate career.
