The four-year Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series in men’s basketball will be discontinued after this season.
The Big 12’s coaches and administrators desire to continue a series and will continue pursuing options to schedule strong non-conference opponents, which could include alliances or agreements with other major conferences.
Last season, the Big 12 had a 9-3 edge in the Hardwood Series. Over the three years of the series, the Big 12 had a 20-16 record. In both regular-season and postseason games in 2009-10, the Big 12 had a 13-4 record against the Pac-10.
