The 2012 Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place Feb. 24-25 at the Gilliam Indoor Stadium in College Station, Texas. This marks just the second time Texas A&M has hosted the event (2009).
Opened in 2008, the Gilliam Indoor Stadium has hosted NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on two occasions (2009 & 2011) and was created with the same surfacing that was used for the track & field events at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
Aside from the six-lane, 200-meter hydraulically banked competition track, the facility features eight independent sprint lanes, two long and triple jump sand pits, four pole vault runways, and two throwing rings. The track also has the capability to be hydraulically banked at its two bends for high speed running events while the stadium seats up to 4,100.
Last season, the Texas A&M men captured their first men's indoor title, while the Nebraska women claimed their sixth crown (1997, 2000-01, 2004-05. '11). Nebraska's six women's titles is the most by any program, while the Huskers also lead with nine men's championships (1997-98, 2000-05, '07). The Longhorn women have five (1998-99, 2002-03, '06) and the Longhorn men have four (1999, 2006, '08, '09).

Tickets for the 2012 Big 12 Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships may be purchased through the Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation Ticket Office. We encourage everyone to purchase tickets early.
