Week 10 features a full week of Big 12 play with every team in action. The Big 12 is the only of the power leagues that will not have a break from conference action through the rest of the season. Every game remaining features conference matchups.
The Big 12 is the only league with fifty percent of its membership ranked in the initial College Football Playoff Poll.
Fifty percent of conference teams are also ranked in the coaches and AP polls. 70 percent have been ranked at some point during the season.
Fifty percent of Big 12 squads have two-or-fewer losses on the season.
Forty percent of Big 12 teams have reached bowl eligibility with two additional teams just one win away.
Among all FBS leagues, the Big 12 is second in total offense (449.12) and passing offense (279.20). Fifty percent of Big 12 teams are in the top 33 nationally in total offense and forty percent are in the top 10 for passing offense.
The Big 12 has the country’s top-two scoring offenses (1. TCU – 50.4 ppg and 2. Baylor – 49.0 ppg). Five teams are in the top 23 – all averaging over 36 points.
Since 2011 when round-robin play began, a ranked team has fallen to an unranked league foe on 17 occasions. Ten lower-ranked teams have defeated a higher-ranked Big 12 opponent.
The Big 12 won 72 percent of its non-conference games and outscorednon-league opponents by 16 points a game.
Over 73 percent of the Big 12’s non-conference matchups were against FBS teams and the Big 12 is the only power league that has faced three top-five ranked non-conference opponents and four rated in the top 12.
Trevone Boykin (TCU) was named the Walter Camp Football FoundationNational Offensive Player of the Week. It marks the third-consecutive week and fourth overall for the Big 12 to receive honors. Boykin joins Clint Trickett(West Virginia/offense), Bryce Petty (Baylor/offense) and Shaq Riddick (WestVirginia/defense).
