Scoring Story
In a light schedule with just four teams playing in Week Four, Big 12 teams scored 14 touchdowns from scrimmage – nine on running plays and five on pass plays. The run plays averaged 14.3 yards and the pass plays averaged 38.4 yards.
Through four weeks, there have been 65 rushing touchdowns averaging 9.6 yards per play and 63 passing touchdowns averaging 26.8 yards per play. Also, there have been interception returns of 100, 50, 28 and 38 yards, two kickoff returns of 100 yards and a punt return for 82 yards.
There were 14 touchdown drives in Week Four. Four of those were five or fewer plays and five took less than two minutes.
Baylor (3-0; idle; at Iowa State Saturday)
The Bears are ranked No. 7 in the Associated Press poll and No. 6 in the coaches' poll.
Iowa State (1-2; idle; vs. Baylor Saturday)
The Cyclones will try to reach .500 in both the Big 12 standings and their overall record.
Kansas (2-1; defeated Central Michigan, 24-10; vs. Texas Saturday)
Tony Pierson's 74-yard touchdown run on Kansas' first offensive play was the first time the Jayhawks scored on the first play of the game since the 2008 Insight Bowl.
Sophomore quarterback Montell Cozart had career highs in completions (23) and passing yards (226).
Freshman running back Corey Avery had his first receiving touchdown on a career-best 30-yard reception.
Senior tight end Jimmay Mundine had a career-high six receptions for 67 yards.
Kansas is 2-0 in the series with Central Michigan, outscoring the Chippewas 76-16 in the two games.
Kansas State (2-1; lost to Auburn, 20-14, Thursday; vs. Texas Tech Oct. 4)
Curry Sexton had career highs in receptions (11) and yards (121).
K-State was 2-of-5 converting in the red zone. Coming into the game, the Wildcats were 12-of-12 with 10 touchdowns.
The final score ended K-State's nine-game streak of scoring 30 or more points.
Since 2008, Kansas State had twice had games with just one penalty. The Wildcats did not commit a penalty against Auburn.
Oklahoma (4-0; defeated West Virginia, 45-33; at TCU Oct. 4)
Kicker Michael Hunnicutt had nine points and with 392 points passed DeMarco Murray (390) as Oklahoma's career scoring leader.
Alex Ross had a 100-yard kickoff return; last week Julian Wilson had a 100-yard interception return. It's the first time in school history Oklahoma has had two 100-yard plays in a season.
Freshman running back Samaje Perine had career highs in carries (34), yards (242) and touchdowns (four) and a career-long rush of 38 yards.
Cornerback Zack Sanchez has interceptions in the last five games and six of his last seven.
Bob Stoops became the first coach to register 100 regular-season Big 12 victories and has a record of 100-24 (.806).
Oklahoma has forced a turnover in eight straight games. With three Saturday, OU has 22 takeaways over that span.
Oklahoma has won eight consecutive games since winning 11 in a row over the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

The Longhorns start Big 12 play and try to avoid their worst start since 1993 when they started 1-3-1.

The Red Raiders last started a season 2-2 in 2010.
West Virginia (2-2; lost to Oklahoma, 45-33; vs. Kansas Oct. 4)
Clint Trickett's 68-yard touchdown pass to Kevin White was a career long for both.
West Virginia is outscoring its opponents 34-6 in the first quarter and has scored in every quarter this season.
Kevin White has at least 10 receptions in three consecutive games and 100 yards in receiving in four consecutive games.
Josh Lambert's 54-yard field goal was a career best.
Since 2003, West Virginia is 1-7 against Top Five teams. The only victory, ironically, came against No. 3 Oklahoma in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl.
