Big 12 women's basketball opens the regular season Friday, November 13 with a full slate of non-conference games.

Big 12 teams return a combined 46 starters in 2015-16 with Oklahoma and Texas each bringing back a conference-high four starters. Fifty percent of Big 12 teams enter the 2015-16 season either ranked or receiving votes in the preseason Associated Press and USA Today coaches polls with No. 5/5 Baylor, No. 12/11 Texas and No. 17/18 Oklahoma ranked. Iowa State and West Virginia received votes in both polls.

The Big 12 completed the 2014-15 season as No. 1 in NCAA Conference RPI for the seventh season out of the past eight while eighty percent of Big 12 squads were listed in the top 70 of team RPI. Every conference program also finished last season ranked in the top 51 of NCAA strength of schedule. A national-high 80 percent of Big 12 teams competed in 2015 postseason play.
