Woodard, Morrison, Pierre-Louis and Berg Lead All-Big 12 Honors

Haley Woodard of Oklahoma State was named 2017 Big 12 Soccer Offensive Player of the Year while Kayla Morrison of Kansas and Amandine Pierre-Louis of West Virginia share Defensive Player of the Year. Texas newcomer Haley Berg received Freshman of the Year while Oklahoma State’s Colin Carmichael was named Coach of the Year.

With Woodard’s honor, Oklahoma State earns its second-straight offensive accolade. Woodard led the league in points (1.12 per game)and goals (.50 per game) during conference action this season.

Morrison made history as the first Jayhawk to win a share of Defensive Player of the Year. The defender, who started all 18 games, has played a crucial role in the Kansas backline. Pierre-Louis becomes the sixth-straight Mountaineer to be honored on defense, starting 16 of 17 matches this year.

Berg notched 12 points, including three game-winners this season to mark the second-consecutive year a Longhorn has earned the newcomer honor. It is also the sixth time in Big 12 history a program has earned back-to-back newcomer awards.

Carmichael led the Cowgirls to a current 15-2-2 overall mark and 8-1 Big 12 record while capturing the Conference regular season title. He joins WVU coach Nikki Izzo-Brown with five honors, the most in conference history.
