Kansas Sweeps Week 11 Big 12 Soccer Awards

Kansas’ Katie McClure and Sarah Peters were honored with Big 12 soccer weekly awards for the last week
of conference play.

McClure was awarded Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season and fourth in her career, after netting her league-leading sixth game-winning goal of the year in the Jayhawks’ 1-0 overtime win over No. 13 West Virginia Thursday night. Her eighth goal of the season came in the 98th minute.

Peters earned both Defensive and Freshman Player of the Week for the first time, after being a key contributor to KU’s road win. The freshman goalkeeper tallied a career-high of eight saves en route to her eighth shutout of the season against the Mountaineers.

KU’s victory was its first road win against a top-25 team in two years.
