Football student-athletes from Kansas, Oklahoma State and TCU earned weekly awards for their efforts in Week 9.

Kansas quarterback Carter Stanley was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate kicker Liam Jones earned Special Teams Player of the Week. Oklahoma State linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez garnered Defensive Player of the Week and TCU freshman quarterback Max Duggan was tabbed Newcomer of the Week.

Stanley led Kansas to its first Big 12 win of the season by throwing for a season-high 415 yards and three touchdowns against Texas Tech. KU was 7-for-10 on third down in the second half, all on Stanley throws, including a 65-yard touchdown to Stephon Robinson and a 70-yard touchdown to Andrew Parchment on third and 21.

A pick-six by Rodriguez late in the fourth quarter proved to be the game-winning touchdown as Oklahoma State edged Iowa State. The junior finished with 11 tackles to lead all players in the game and added a pass break up on a third-down play to force an Iowa State punt.

The kicker Jones gave Kansas the win over Texas Tech, hitting a 32-yard field goal as time expired. It was his first game-winning field goal as a Jayhawk. He also connected on four extra points.

Duggan completed a career-high 19 passes and threw for a career-best 273 yards in TCU's upset win over No. 15 Texas on Saturday. The freshman tossed a pair of touchdowns and ran for another score. His 11-yard TD run late in the fourth quarter sealed the game for the Horned Frogs.

All of this week’s award winners are first-time honorees.
