The latest Big 12 weekly soccer awards have been announced as Kaylee Dao (Oklahoma) and Elizabeth Kooiman (Baylor) join Madison White (Texas Tech) as this week’s honorees.
 
Dao received Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Conference with six points, all coming via her first-career hat trick in OU’s 3-2 win over K-State. The last of Dao’s three goals was a game-winner that sealed the Sooners’ overtime victory.  Dao’s hat trick is the fourth in Oklahoma history and first since 2015. The senior forward has netted three multi-goal matches in 2019 and is now tied for the Big 12 lead with 11 goals scored this season.
 
For the third week in a row, White picks up a Big 12 weekly honor, this time as Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman goalkeeper recorded yet another shutout, her third in as many conference starts, keeping Iowa State off the scoreboard in nearly 110 minutes. White’s clean sheet helped Texas Tech to a 1-0 win in double overtime on the road, as the Red Raiders became the only remaining unbeaten team in league play.
 
Kooiman earned Freshman of the Week honors after netting Baylor’s first hat trick since 2010. She is the first BU freshman to do so since the Bears’ inaugural soccer season in 1996. The forward needed just three shots to score three times, leading Baylor to a 4-2 win over West Virginia.
 
This is the third-career weekly award for White, second for Dao, and first for Kooiman. All six of those honors have come this season. Texas Tech has now been honored in four consecutive weeks, tying them for the Big 12 lead with four weekly accolades in 2019.
