Helping engineer the biggest comeback victory in program history at No. 13/12/10 Baylor, Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week, the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week and the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback of the Week.
Hurts accounted for 411 yards of offense (305 after halftime) to rally Oklahoma from a 28-3 deficit to a 34-31 road win over the previously undefeated Bears. Since 1996, teams trailing by at least 25 points on the road against an AP Top 25 opponent are just 2-1,446.
Hurts was 30 for 42 through the air on the night (both season highs) for 297 yards and a season-high four touchdowns. The senior from Houston also ran 27 times for a game-high 114 yards.
After the Sooners trailed 31-10 at halftime, Hurts completed 22 of 28 pass attempts for 217 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 88 yards on 15 carries.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, OU's 21-point halftime deficit (31-10) is the largest overcome to defeat an FBS team that entered the game 9-0 or better since NCAA classification began in 1937.
Hurts leads the nation this season in passing efficiency rating (209.1), yards per pass attempt (12.3) and points responsible for per game (26.0), while ranking second in yards per completion (16.8) and total offense (402.2 ypg) and third in completion percentage (73.0). He is averaging 303.9 passing yards and 98.3 rushing yards per contest. He has also accounted for 43 touchdowns.
