BU’s Cooper, TTU’s Tucker Collect Week 2 Awards
Baylor guard Te’a Cooper earned her first Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor, while Texas Tech freshman guard Alexis Tucker collected Freshman of the Week after a strong collegiate debut. A five-person media panel selects the weekly award winners.
Cooper, a senior, connected on 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the field, scoring 23 points in the victory over Houston Baptist. The guard dished out a career-best 10 assists with zero turnovers against the Huskies.
In her first college game, Tucker recorded a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds in the Lady Raiders’ victory over Sam Houston State. She made 6-of-8 shots from the field (75%) and notched 10-of-11 (90.9%) from the charity stripe in the contest.
