Baylor head coach Matt Rhule and Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley have been named semifinalists for the 2019 George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year Award, as announced by the Maxwell Football Club (MFC). The list includes a field of 22 candidates who have been selected by the MFC National Selection Committee.
Semifinalist voting for the award will begin on Thursday, Nov. 21 and close on Sunday, Dec. 8. The finalist round will include the top three coaches with voting open from Dec. 9 to Dec. 27. The winner will be announced on Dec. 29 with a formal presentation set for Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Maxwell Football Club’s National Awards Gala.
Eligible voters include MFC members, NCAA head football coaches, sports information directors and selected national media. The Big 12 last won the award in 2008 (Mike Leach, Texas Tech).
