Baylor and Oklahoma State Collect Week 10 Awards
Three Big 12 football student-athletes from Oklahoma State and one from Baylor collected honors for their performances in Week 10.
Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week, while Cowboy linebacker Kolby Harvell-Peel earned Defensive Player of the Week. OSU redshirt freshman quarterback Spencer Sanders garnered Newcomer of the Week. Baylor senior defensive tackle Bravvion Roy was named Special Teams Player of the Week. A five-person media panel selects the honorees.
Hubbard became the first player to surpass 200 rushing yards against a Gary Patterson defense, finishing with 223 yards in the win over TCU. His 92-yard run in the third quarter tied for the fourth longest rushing play in OSU history. The redshirt sophomore is just the eighth Big 12 player to rush for 200 yards with 20 or fewer attempts in a Conference game.
Responsible for three turnovers in OSU's seven-point win over TCU, Harvell-Peel intercepted two passes, registered a pair of pass break ups, recovered a fumble and collected six tackles in the win.
Sanders finished with 246 yards of total offense, helping lead OSU to a seven-point win over TCU. His 88 rushing yards were the second-most of all players in the game. He added 158 passing yards and two passing touchdowns on 9-of-15 passing (60%) in the victory.
Roy came up with his first blocked kick of the year, as he deflected a West Virginia field goal attempt with 3:33 left in the fourth quarter that would have tied the game at 17-17. The 48-yard field goal attempt block was the second of his career.
Hubbard picked up his third Offensive Player of the Week accolade this season, while Harvell-Peel and Sanders each picked up their second awards this season. Roy is a first-time honoree.
