Northern Iowa’s Bryce Steiert has been named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for Week 6. This serves as the first Conference honor of the senior’s career.
Steiert was one of just two Big 12 wrestlers to make the finals at the prestigious Cliff Keen Invite. He took down a pair of ranked opponents on the path to the championship, including a major decision over No. 8 Anthony Valencia from Arizona State in the semifinals. The senior finished the weekend 4-1 overall with his lone loss coming in overtime of the championship match. Steiert’s performance boasted two major decisions and a fall en route to helping the Panthers to a fourth place team finish.
