Doolittle and Clarke Receive Men’s Basketball Honors

Kristian Doolittle (Oklahoma) earned his second Big 12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award while Chris Clarke (Texas Tech) garnered his first Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. Clarke is the fourth Red Raider to receive the award in the first seven weeks of the season.

Doolittle was the only Big 12 player to average 15+ points and 10+ rebounds last week. After getting into early foul trouble, he led Oklahoma in the second half comeback win over UCF with 10 points and seven rebounds. The senior forward produced a double-double on the road against Creighton with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Doolittle leads the Big 12 in scoring during the month of December with 20.8 points.

Clarke continued to contribute to Texas Tech wins by averaging 11 points, 10 rebounds and four assists last week. He recorded a double-double against Southern Miss with 14 points and 11 rebounds before adding eight points and nine boards versus UTRGV.  The senior forward has five double-digit rebound performances this season.
