NCAA Announces Record 53 Wrestling Qualifier Allocations

The NCAA announced that the Big 12 Conference earned a record 53 qualifier allocations to the 2019 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The allocations are spread amongst all 10 weight classes, with the 149 and 197 weight classes earning the most (7). Four weight classes earned five allocations (125, 133, 174 and 184), while three earned six (149, 165 and 285). The remaining weight class (157) was allocated one spot.

Since the addition of affiliate members in 2016, the Big 12 has been allotted 174 allocations, 53 being the most.

After all conference tournaments have concluded, the NCAA Division I Wrestling Committee will meet in-person to select the remaining 44 at-large qualifiers, which will be announced on March 12, while brackets and seeding will be announced on NCAA.com at 6 p.m. CT on March 13.
