Big 12 men’s basketball awards were earned by two first time honorees as Kyler Edwards (Texas Tech) was recognized as player of the week while Isaiah Moss (Kansas) picked up newcomer of the week.
 
Edwards scored a career-high 24 points in a road win at Kansas State before establishing a career-best with five 3-pointers in a home victory over Iowa State, finishing with 22 points. The sophomore guard averaged 23 points for the week and shot 65.2 percent (15-of-23) from the field, connecting on 8-of-10 of his 3-point attempts.
 
In his first start for Kansas, Moss scored 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including a career-high tying six 3-pointers in the Jayhawks’ road victory at Oklahoma. It was Moss' second 20-point effort of the season and his 11 3-point attempts were a career high. In the win at Texas, the senior guard scored five points and pulled down a season-high five rebounds.
