Azubuike, Bolton Collect Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards

Udoka Azubuike (Kansas) earned his first career Big 12 men’s basketball player of the week honor while Rasir Bolton (Iowa State) picked up his second newcomer of the week award.  
 
Azubuike posted back-to-back double-doubles averaging 14.0 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in wins against Kansas State and Tennessee. He also shot 83.3 percent (10-for-12) from the field. In the win against K-State, the senior center had 10 points, tied his conference season high with 14 rebounds and had four blocked shots. He followed that with 18 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks versus Tennessee.  
 
Bolton scored 20+ points in both games for Iowa State with averages of 22.0 points and 6.5 rebounds. He tallied 21 points, five assists and a career-high nine boards in a win against Oklahoma State and followed with 23 points against Auburn. The sophomore guard made 4-of-6 three-pointers vs. OSU and connected on 16-of-18 free throws for the week.
