Baylor has been selected as the preseason favorite to win the Big 12 women’s basketball regular-season title in 2020-21, in a vote by the league’s head coaches.
This is the 10th time since 2006 that the Lady Bears have been atop the preseason ledger. BU has won or tied for 11 regular-season crowns, including the last 10.
Baylor received nine of 10 first-place votes (coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams). Second-place Texas received the other first-place vote, while Iowa State was picked third. K-State and West Virginia rounded out the top five. Texas Tech was selected sixth, while Oklahoma was seventh and Oklahoma State was eighth, followed by TCU and Kansas.
The 2020-21 season opens on Wednesday, November 25.
