Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas Tech collected Big 12 soccer honors for their performances in Week 7.
TCU’s Grace Collins was awarded Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, while Horned Frog teammate Tijana Duricek earned Defensive Player of the Week. Oklahoma State’s Emily Plotz picked up Goalkeeper of the Week, while Texas Tech’s Gisselle Kozarski was tabbed Freshman of the Week.
Collins assisted with the Horned Frogs’ first goal in the second half against K-State and scored the game-winner in overtime. The game-winning goal was the first of her career. She has three goals this season and at least a point in the last four matches.
One of two Horned Frogs to play every minute in matches against Kansas and K-State, Duricek helped TCU hold both KU and K-State to a combined eight shots on goal. The senior tallied the game-winning goal in the 2-0 victory over No. 5 Kansas.
Plotz recorded her third shutout of the season with five saves in Oklahoma State's 2-0 win over Texas. Her five saves was one shy of her season high, as she faced 11 shots and five corner kicks by the Longhorns.
Kozarski's first collegiate goal clinched a 1-0 Texas Tech victory over Iowa State. The freshman knocked in the game-winner in the 42nd minute, putting the Red Raiders in the win column for the first time this season.
All of this week’s recipients are first-time honorees.
