Pressley, Butler & Nembhard Earn Volleyball Awards

Yossiana Pressley (Baylor) was selected the Big 12 Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time in four weeks. Brionne Butler (Texas) earned her second Defensive award of the season while Jayden Nembhard (Kansas State) picked up her second rookie honor. Pressley collected her 18th career award while Butler garnered her fifth.
 
Pressley put down 61 kills (6.10 per set) on a .299 efficiency in two matches at No. 1 Texas while accounting for 65 total points. She added four solo blocks and 14 digs, defensively. Pressley’s 32 kills were Baylor's most in a match since she collected a career-high (and program record) 39 at Iowa State in 2018. Last Thursday, the senior OH went without an error in the first two sets, tallying 18 kills on 30 swings.
 
Butler was a dominant force in the middle, finishing with 17 blocks and 21 kills during the two wins over No. 3 Baylor. The junior MB hit a team-high .419, averaging 2.10 kills per set, while also averaging 1.70 blocks. In last Friday’s five-set win, Butler had a career high-tying 11 total blocks.
 
In a sweep of Texas Tech, Nembhard paced K-State’s offense with 3.14 kills per set while hitting .327. Coming off the bench, the freshman OH tallied 14 kills while only playing in four sets in the five-set win last Friday. She hit .257 and added three digs. On Saturday, Nembhard did not commit an attacking error on 17 swings while collecting eight kills for a career-high .471 efficiency.
