KU, K-State and OSU Win Final Fall Soccer Awards

Kansas, Kansas State and Oklahoma State student-athletes collected Big 12 soccer weekly honors for the final week of the fall season.

Kansas senior Ceri Holland picked up Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, while Oklahoma State senior Hannah Webb garnered Defensive Player of the Week. K-State’s Peyton Pearson was awarded Goalkeeper and Freshman of the Week.

Holland concluded the fall recording three assists in KU's first three goals of a 4-1 win against Oklahoma. She also paced KU with five shots for the match. With the five shots, Holland ended her KU career with 152 all-time shots which ranks 10th on the Kansas all-time list.

Webb played all 90 minutes and helped anchor an OSU defense that recorded its fourth shutout of the season in the Cowgirls' 1-0 shutout over rival Oklahoma. Webb had a crucial defensive play in the 68th minute when she headed a shot off the line for a team save to help preserve the OSU lead. Webb also had a shot on goal in the match.

Pearson became the first K-State goalkeeper to win her collegiate debut with a 2-0 win over Texas Tech in the season finale. With the shutout, Pearson helped K-State secure consecutive wins in Big 12 play for the first time since beginning league play in 2017. She registered nine saves on 28 total shots faced to secure her first shutout. The nine saves were a K-State season-high and a Big 12 season-high for a freshman.

This is Holland’s third award of the season, while Pearson and Webb are first-time honorees.
