Kara McGhee (Baylor) and Aliyah Carter (Kansas State) picked up Big 12 volleyball awards for the second consecutive week as McGhee was chosen as the top defensive player while Carter pocketed her second rookie honor. Yossiana Pressley (Baylor) was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks.
 
Pressley collected her 17^th career award while McGhee garnered her sixth.
 
Senior OH Pressley knocked down 31 kills on a .380 clip over the weekend, collecting 4.43 kills per set in two victories over No. 15 West Virginia. She put down 17 smashes in Saturday's sweep, 5.67 putaways per set, while hitting an astounding .654 without a single error. Pressley also contributed in the passing game with nine digs and chipped in nine blocks, totaling 36 points over the series. Pressley has led the Bears in kills 10 times this season and she leads the conference with 189 total terminations.
 
McGhee led the Bears with 14 blocks (2.00 per set) in the sweep of No. 15 West Virginia. The sophomore MB collected seven rejections in each match, helping BU to a season-high 14.5 stuffs on Friday and another 12 on Saturday, while holding the Mountaineers to hitting percentages of .055 and .032. McGhee's efforts have been a big part of the Bears' three-straight double-digit block performances, as Baylor has held its opponents to hitting under .175 in five consecutive contests.
 
Carter strung together back-to-back 20-kill performances in the 2020 Sunflower Showdown, including 22 kills while hitting .450 last Thursday night. In a five-set victory over Kansas last Friday, Carter logged 23 kills at a .220 clip for her third 20-kill match of the season. She added a career-high eight digs to go with five blocks. For the week, the true freshman OH averaged 5.00 kills a set while hitting .322. Carter ranks third in the Big 12 in kills per set and is tops among league freshmen.
