Four Named Finalists for Lisa Leslie Award

Baylor’s Queen Egbo, along with Iowa State’s Kristin Scott, Texas’ Charlie Collier and Texas Tech’s Brittany Brewer have been named finalists for the 2020 Lisa Leslie Award, honoring the nation’s top center in Division I basketball. The four Big 12 honorees is the most amongst conferences nationally.

Egbo has been a consistent performer for the second-ranked Lady Bears, averaging 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and shooting a Big 12 best 60.1 percent from the floor. The sophomore has six double-doubles on the season, netting a career high 21 points against Houston Baptist while grabbing a career-best 15 rebounds against Oklahoma State.
Scott has been instrumental in the success of the Cyclones, averaging 15.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 47.6 percent from the field. She has reached double figure points 19 times this season and has five games with 20 or more points.

Collier is averaging a double-double for the Longhorns netting 13.6 points per game and bringing in 10.7 board per contest. The sophomore ranks third in the Big 12 in defensive rebounds per game (7.1) and double doubles (11), while also ranking seventh in the Conference in blocks per game (1.2).

Brewer has had a strong senior season up to this point, averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per game. She ranks second nationally in blocks (95) and is the only player averaging 15 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks.

The winner of the 2020 Lisa Leslie Award will be presented at The College Basketball Awards presented by Wendy’s in Los Angeles, California on April 10, 2020. The honor will be presented in conjunction with the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard Award, the Ann Myers Drysale Shooting Guard Award, the Cheryl Miller Small Forward Award and the Katrina McClain Forward Award.
