TCU’s Desmond Bane and PJ Fuller along with Texas’ Andrew Jones earned Big 12 men’s basketball players of the week after upsets over Top 25 opponents. Bane and Jones shared player of the week honors while Fuller collected his first newcomer of the week. Bane picked up his third career weekly award while Jones was recognized for the first time.
 
Bane scored 23 points, 19 in the second half, to lead TCU to its biggest home win in program history, 75-72, over No. 2 Baylor. Bane was 7-of-8 from the field in the second half, including 5-of-5 from 3-point range. With the game tied, Bane scored eight straight points with under six minutes to play which was part of a 13-0 TCU run. It put the Frogs up by 13 points with 1:19 remaining, which was BU’s largest deficit of the season. Bane recorded a double-double on Tuesday with 22 points and a career-high 11 rebounds at Iowa State for a weekly average of 22.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
 
Jones paced Texas to two crucial wins to mark the first time the Longhorns have won back-to-back games against AP Top 25 opponents since the 2013-14 season. The sophomore guard posted a career-high 22 points and added three rebounds, three assists and two steals in a career-best 39 minutes in a 67-57 win over No. 20 West Virginia. He tied his career high with 22 points and added four rebounds in 39 minutes in the 68-58 win at No. 22 Texas Tech. For the week, Jones averaged 22 points and 3.5 rebounds.
 
Fuller scored a career-high 21 points in helping TCU to the 75-72 win over No. 2 Baylor. The freshman guard scored 17 of those points in the second half and was 5-of-7 from the field. He was 7-of-12 for the game. Fuller added 10 points at Iowa State in the midweek game and averaged 15.5 points and 3.5 assists for the week.
