Big 12 Teams Ranked in Preseason AP Poll

Sixty percent of Big 12 football teams are ranked or received votes in the Preseason Associated Press Poll. No. 5 Oklahoma led the Big 12 contingent followed by No. 14 Texas, No. 15 Oklahoma State and No. 23 Iowa State. Baylor and TCU received votes.
 
The defending Big 12 champion Sooners have been ranked in 21 consecutive preseason AP Polls, the nation’s second-longest active streak. All Division I teams were eligible for the preseason AP Top 25, but after the season starts, only teams that play in the fall are eligible.
 
Big 12 teams are scheduled to play a home non-conference game on Saturday, September 12. The nine-game conference season will begin on Saturday, September 26 with the Dr Pepper Big 12 Football Championship scheduled for Saturday, December 12 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
