The Big 12 has announced its week eight volleyball award winners for the 2021 season. Baylor’s Yossiana Pressley obtains Offensive Player of the Week, while Kansas State’s Mackenzie Morris collects Defensive Player of the Week and Oklahoma’s Peyton Dunn receives Rookie of the Week.

Pressley was outstanding for the Bears, averaging 6.13 kills per set in the two 3-1 victories against Kansas. Pressley had a hitting percentage of .420 in the two matches and added 17 digs (2.13 d/s). The senior had four blocks and a total of 51.5 points (6.4 pts/s). This is the 2020 AVCA All-America First Team member’s conference record 21^st Big 12 weekly award and her 16^th for offense.

Morris led the Big 12 with 5.86 digs per set while helping Kansas State split a series with West Virginia. In a four-set win over the Mountaineers, Morris turned in a match-high 19 digs. In Friday’s finale, she carded 22 digs to equal the third-most in program history in a three-set match in the rally-scoring era. It marked her 10^th career 20-dig outing, which moves her into fourth in program history during the rally-scoring era in 20-dig performances. This is the sophomore’s first weekly conference award.

Dunn captures her third Big 12 Rookie of the Week honor in four weeks and her fourth this season. The freshman set a career-high with 54 assists in the 3-2 win over Texas Tech, averaging 10.80 per set, and had her second match of the season with over 50 assists. She also picked up her seventh double-double of the year in the match with 11 digs (2.20 d/s). Dunn tallied 23 assists in the second match and has had at least 20 assists in every match this season.
