Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby has appointed David Waxman to the position of assistant director – media services. The communications veteran will serve as the primary contact for women’s basketball and baseball.
 
Waxman’s previous experience includes positions at SMU, North Texas, Rice and Texas A&M. He has worked with three national championship-winning coaches and two former Big 12 Women's Basketball Coaches of the Year. At different points in his career, Waxman has served as primary contact for 14 of the 23 sports the Big 12 sponsors. He has experience working NCAA Championship events, including Men's and Women's Final Fours, the Men's College World Series and the Men's College Cup.

The Houston native graduated from SMU with a B.B.A. in Management in 2010 and is scheduled to graduate with a M.S. in Sport Management from Sam Houston State in 2022.
