TCU sophomore Mike Miles captured his third career Big 12 men’s basketball weekly honor and first as Player of the Week while Baylor freshman Kendall Brown was recognized for the first time as Newcomer of the Week.
Miles scored 14 of his team-high 20 points in the second half to lead TCU to an 80-73 win at Georgetown as the Big 12 tied the series in the Big East/Big 12 Battle. He also led the Horned Frogs with five assists and pulled down six rebounds while connecting on 50 percent of his 3-point attempts.
Brown was instrumental in top-ranked Baylor's 78-70 win at Oregon with a team-high 17 points and four rebounds. Forced to the bench in the first half with foul trouble, Brown scored 15 second-half points including a stretch where he had nine of Baylor's 12 points, which turned a tie game into a 12-point Bears lead. Brown has now scored in double-figures and recorded at least one steal in nine of his 10 games at Baylor.
