K-State's Lee and Glenn Sweep Big 12 WBB Weekly Honors
Kansas State swept the Big 12 Women’s Basketball weekly honors for games ending Dec. 19, with Ayoka Lee (Player of the Week) and Brylee Glenn (Freshman of the Week) earning the distinction from a five-person media panel.
Lee had 19 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks, representing game-highs in each category in K-State’s wire-to-wire victory over Coaches’ Poll No. 23 Oregon. It marked the eighth double-double of the season for the Byron, Minnesota native, which ranks second in the nation, and she leads the nation with 285 points scored and 48 blocked shots. Lee shot 70.0% from the field and 83.3% from the line to win her second Big 12 Player of the Week award of the season and her career.
Glenn scored 15 points with three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal against Oregon. When the Ducks cut the deficit to two points early in the second half, she hit a 3-pointer to start a 7-0 run, and Oregon never got within five points for the remainder of the game. Glenn added the exclamation point with a steal-and-score during the final minute to seal the 68-56 victory. It is Glenn’s second Freshman of the Week honor and the fourth consecutive week the honor has gone to a Kansas State player.
