A pair of Oklahoma Sooners along with a K-State baseball student-athlete were honored for their performances in Week 11.

K-State senior Chris Ceballos was tabbed the Big 12 Baseball Player of the Week, while OU right-hander Jason Ruffcorn collected Pitcher of the Week. Sooner outfielder Brett Squires earned Newcomer of the Week recognition. A five-person media panel selects the honorees.

Ceballos homered in four straight games last week, helping K-State to a 4-0 week against Missouri and Texas Southern. Ceballos hit .538 (7-for-13) with a Big 12-high four homers, 15 RBI and a 1.615 slugging percentage. In a 13-8 victory over Missouri, the senior went 3-for-4, with a homer, two doubles and a career-high five RBI. Ceballos lifted his first career grand slam Friday and added three-run homers both Saturday and Sunday.

Ruffcorn turned in a strong performance in Oklahoma's 5-3 Bedlam series-clinching win over Oklahoma State on Saturday. He struck out a career-high 10 batters over a career-high 6.2 innings to earn the victory. Typically the OU closer, Ruffcorn entered in the top of the third inning and stayed in for the remainder of the game. He put an exclamation point on the outing by striking out the side in the ninth inning, as the victory helped OU clinch its first Bedlam conference series win since 2016.

Squires hit three home runs, including the game-winner on Saturday, to lead Oklahoma to a Bedlam series victory over Oklahoma State. His two-run homer in the seventh inning of the contest provided the winning runs as OU clinched the series. In the Sooners' 16-2 series-opening victory Friday night, Squires went 4-for-6 as he hit an RBI single during OU's five-run third inning and led off the fifth with a home run. He also homered to lead off the bottom of the second inning in Sunday's series finale.
