Oklahoma Selected to Play in NIT

Oklahoma men's basketball was selected as a No. 1 seed in the 2022 NIT and will face Missouri State Tuesday, March 15 at 6 p.m. at Lloyd Noble Center.

If the Sooners win their NIT opener, they will face the winner of Colorado and St. Bonaventure on March 19 or 20.

Oklahoma last played in the NIT in 2004 and earned a 70-61 victory over LSU in the first round. The Sooners have made seven appearances in the NIT (10-7 record) and have participated in postseason eight of the previous nine years that postseason play was conducted.

The Big 12 has 70 previous appearances in the NIT with a 98-68 (.590) record. Texas and TCU made the Conference's last appearances in 2019 with the Longhorns winning the championship at Madison Square Garden.
