Oklahoma State’s Kelly Maxwell along with Texas’ Hailey Dolcini earned Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week honors while Texas Tech’s Riley Ehlen secured her first Big 12 Player of the Week recognition.

Maxwell tossed an Oklahoma State program-record 18 strikeouts against Kansas, the most ever by a Cowgirl in a seven-inning game. The junior’s strikeout total also marked a career-high and bolstered her as the Big 12’s strikeout leader (198) this season. The 2021 First Team All-Big 12 pitcher allowed just two hits with no walks in the start and procured her fifth career Big 12 weekly award.

Dolcini threw two complete games while limiting the nation’s top-ranked offense to a .100 overall batting average. The Ferndale, California native held Oklahoma to just three and two hits, respectively, marking the fewest hits for OU in any single game since at least 2019. On Saturday during the series finale, the senior shut out the top-ranked Sooners for 6.1 innings while helping Texas end Oklahoma’s 40-game overall winning streak (dating back to the 2021 WCWS) and NCAA Division 1-record 38-game season-opening winning streak in a 4-2 Longhorn victory. This is Dolcini’s second Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honor this season. She was also named the Wilson/NFCA D1 Pitcher of the Week.

Ehlen provided a huge spark for the Texas Tech offense which put up 29 runs in three games against Iowa State. On the weekend, the junior hit .625 with five hits and five RBI while scoring three runs. She was 4-for-7 with runners in scoring position, 2-for-2 with the bases loaded and 3-for-4 with two outs to record three two-out RBI. The native of Brentwood, California drew three walks for an on-base percentage of .727.
