Longhorns Voted Big 12 Volleyball Favorite for 12th Consecutive Year

Texas was voted atop the 2022 Big 12 Volleyball Preseason Poll for a Conference record 12th consecutive year. The Longhorns have been picked No. 1 each season since 2011.

The preseason poll is determined by Big 12 head coaches who are not allowed to rank their own team.

Baylor was picked second for the fifth year in a row while Iowa State was selected third for the second time in three seasons.

Kansas was tabbed fourth for the second straight year while Texas Tech was voted fifth, its highest spot in the preseason poll since being selected fifth in 1996. Kansas State comes in at sixth followed by TCU, West Virginia and Oklahoma.

Seven Big 12 teams made the NCAA Volleyball Championship in 2021, the most for the league since 2011. The Big 12 led all conferences in the percentage of teams selected to the tournament (77.8).

The 2022 regular season begins on August 26 with Big 12 play starting on September 21.
