Oklahoma’s Madi Williams (player) and Baylor’s Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (freshman) were selected for the Big 12 women’s basketball weekly awards for the 12th week of the season.
Williams averaged 22.5 points on 63% shooting in wins over Oklahoma State and TCU to accrue her second Player of the Week this season and fifth of her career. In the road match against the Horned Frogs, she became the first Big 12 player since at least 2009 to post 19 points on 80% shooting with five assists in under 25 minutes in a conference game. The Fort Worth native also added seven rebounds and three steals in the 93-66 win over TCU. Williams then concluded the week by leading Oklahoma to a double-digit comeback to defeat Oklahoma State with 26 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Littlepage-Buggs averaged 12.5 points and ranked fifth in the league and first among freshmen with 9.0 rebounds. In a win over Kansas State, the first-year forward recorded her team-leading seventh double-double and second straight as she finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds. She was second in the Big 12 in field goal percentage with a 63.2% effort (12-for-19) and picked up her third weekly honor.
