Texas’ Will Modglin (swimmer), Nick Harris (diver) and Nate Germonprez (newcomer) swept the Conference’s swimming and diving awards on the men’s side while Olivia Bray (swimmer), Hailey Hernandez (diver) and Emma Kern (co-newcomer) collected honors on the women’s side for Texas. Houston’s Elizabeth Jimenez completed the awards as she was named the women’s co-newcomer of the week.

Modglin made his collegiate debut at the SMU Classic where he set the meet record in the 100 back with a time of 45.93. The freshman added a runner-up finish in the 50 yard free (19.82), a third-place finish in the 800 yard free (6:28.38) and two fourth-place finishes in the 200 medley relay (1:26.89) and the 200 back (1:44.70). It is the sport management major’s first career Conference award.

Bray opened her season accounting for two of the Longhorns’ 14 event wins as she took the 100 back (51.70) and 100 fly (51.67). The management student also competed in the 200 medley relay, finishing with a 24.33 split in the first leg. The senior has garnered three other weekly Conference awards during her time in Austin, with the last one coming on February 9, 2022.

Hernandez helped the UT women’s swimming and diving team defeat Houston 193-103 as she led Texas to wins in both diving events. The junior exercise science major was the lone competitor to break 400 points in the 3-meter (401.33), 67.13 points higher than the runner-up. She also won the 1-meter (347.48) by 13.28 points. It is her seventh weekly Conference award in her career.

Germonprez completed the sweep of the men’s awards after winning the 200 IM (1:45.27) and winning the B-final in the 100 breast (53.97). It is the business major’s first Conference award since arriving in Austin this season.
