TCU’s Emanuel Miller picked up his fourth career Big 12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor and third of this season, including two of the last three weeks. Texas Tech’s Chance McMillian earned his second Newcomer of the Week accolade.
 
Miller averaged 21 points, eight rebounds and three assists to lead TCU to two road wins. The senior forward recorded his first double-double of the season with 21 points and a season-high 11 rebounds in 40 minutes played in a 74-69 win at Oklahoma State. Miller had 14 points and seven rebounds in the second half as the Horned Frogs rallied from as many as 17 down late in the first half. Miller scored 21 points and had five rebounds in TCU's 105-102 triple-overtime win at No. 15 Baylor on Saturday. His 53 minutes played tied for the most by a TCU player since at least the 1996-97 season. Miller scored eight points in the three overtime periods. Of a possible 95 minutes in TCU's two games, the sociology and general studies major played 93 minutes and committed just two fouls.
 
In Texas Tech’s lone game of the week, McMillian totaled a career-high 27 points and eight rebounds in a win at No. 11 Oklahoma. The university studies student was 10-of-13 from the field, including 6-for-8 on 3-pointers. The career-high scoring performance included 17 points in the second half with four 3-pointers as the Red Raiders overcame a nine-point second-half deficit to move to 5-1 in conference play. The 27 points surpassed a previous career-high of 24 that McMillian had earlier this season at Butler and also last season against SFA while he was playing for Grand Canyon. He is now averaging 9.9 points per game this season with nine double-figure scoring performances. In his first season at Tech after three years at GCU, the senior guard enters this week with 858 career points.
