TCU’s Sedona Prince (player) and Arizona’s Lauryn Swann (freshman) collected weekly Conference honors for their play during the second week of the 2024-25 women’s basketball season.
Prince powered TCU to its first win over a ranked team in three seasons, tallying a game-high 31 points and 16 rebounds in the Horned Frogs’ takedown of then-No. 13 NC State. The victory over the Wolfpack was TCU’s first over a top 15 team since Jan. 10, 2018, and Prince’s points and rebounds were the most by any player nationally against a Top 25 team so far this season. The graduate student from Liberty Hill, Texas averaged 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game during the week. Prince’s efforts helped TCU earn its first AP Top 25 ranking in the month of November since the 2010-11 season. This is the 2024-25 Lisa Leslie Award Preseason Watch List member’s third weekly Big 12 accolade.
Swann led Arizona with 19 points in a 75-66 victory over UNLV, handing the preseason Mountain West favorite its first loss of the season. The freshman was 8-of-9 from the field and scored all of her points in the second half. The guard followed with 12 points off the bench against Chicago State in an 84-48 Wildcat win. The Queens, New York native shot 64.7% from the field during the week and 66.7% from three. Swann is the first Arizona women’s basketball player to earn a weekly Conference honor.
