TCU’s Ngao and Underwood Secure Big 12 Cross Country Weekly Awards

TCU’s Tabitha Ngao (women’s) and Tate Underwood (men’s) swept the Big 12 Runner of the Week accolades for the second week of the 2024 season.

Ngao won the title at the UTA Gerald Richey Invitational for the second consecutive season, posting a season-best time of 17:32.4. She led an army of five Frogs in the top 10 to help the TCU women grab the team title. The sophomore has won each of her first two races of the 2024 season after winning the John McKenzie Invitational on August 31. It is her second career Conference weekly award after she took home the accolade on September 12, 2023.

Underwood collected his first collegiate individual race title at the UTA Gerald Richey Invitational. The sophomore led the TCU men’s team that placed six runners in the top 10 to the team title as he dropped more than 17 seconds off his previous 5k time by clocking 14:53.2. Underwood is the first men’s runner to be named the Big 12 Runner of the Week in program history.
