IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference’s weekly football honors were awarded to the running back tandem of Texas Tech’s Cameron Dickey and BYU’s LJ Martin (offensive) alongside TTU’s David Bailey and K-State’s Des Purnell (defensive) for Week Seven. Cincinnati’s Max Fletcher and Ethan Sanchez from Houston received special teams accolades, and BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier was named Freshman of the Week. Utah received Offensive Line of the Week honors, while Texas Tech received the Defensive Line award.

With the most rushing yards in an FBS game this season with 263, Dickey produced a top-five game on the ground in Texas Tech history in his team’s 25-point win over Kansas. His career night also included a pair of touchdowns as well as three catches for 16 yards. Dickey opened the game with a 71-yard touchdown run and housed a 55-yard scamper in the fourth quarter as well. His 263 rushing yards were the most by a Red Raider since Byron Hanspard set the school record with 287 yards against Baylor in 1996.

Martin rushed for two career highs with 25 carries and 162 yards to go along with a touchdown in BYU’s double-overtime win at Arizona. His 162 rushing yards were the most by a Cougar since the 2021 season and came against a Wildcat defense that allowed 97.6 rushing yards per game entering Saturday. Martin now leads the Big 12 in rushing yards per game at 108.7, which ranks sixth nationally.

Bailey was credited with three of Texas Tech’s nine sacks in their 42-17 victory versus Kansas, matching the FBS high for sacks in a game this season. He finished his night in Lubbock with six tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. The performance put Bailey into a share of the FBS lead this season with eight-and-a-half sacks. Bailey also helped Texas Tech set a single-game school record with nine sacks on Saturday.

Filling the stat sheet with five tackles, two tackles for a loss, a sack and a pair of interceptions in K-State’s win against TCU, Purnell became only the second linebacker in the nation with multiple interceptions in a game this season. He returned one of his picks for a touchdown, becoming the first Wildcat with a pick-six since 2012. The senior also upped K-State's nation-leading, non-offensive touchdown mark of 138 since 1999.

Fletcher earned his accolades after a career day in the punting game. With five kicks that averaged 41.2 yards, he played a pivotal role in the Bearcats’ winning the field position game in their 20-11 victory over UCF. Fletcher pinned the Knights back with four punts inside the 15-yard line, including one at the two-yard line with a minute remaining.

With a perfect 4-of-4 performance on field goals and three extra points, Sanchez received weekly honors for the second time this season. His makes versus Oklahoma State were from 29, 30, 46 and 48 yards out in the 22-point victory and made him the only FBS kicker this season with multiple games of four made field goals. Entering the midpoint of the season, Sanchez is already 12^th in Houston single-season history with 14 made field goals.

Bachmeier received Freshman of the Week honors for the third consecutive week, and fourth time this season, after guiding BYU to a 33-27 double-overtime victory at Arizona. The quarterback completed 12 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 89 yards and two more scores. His first rushing touchdown tied the game with just 19 seconds left in regulation and the second one proved to be the game winner in the second overtime.

Winning Offensive Line of the Week for a second time this season, Utah controlled the line of scrimmage to the tune of 276 yards and six touchdowns on the ground in a 42-10 win over then-No. 21 Arizona State. The Utes scored six rushing touchdowns for the fifth time in program history. The offensive line also did not allow a sack against the Sun Devils.

Texas Tech was voted the Conference’s Defensive Line of the Week after setting a single-game school record with nine sacks, breaking the previous mark that stood for over 30 years. The nine sacks also mark the FBS single-game high for the season. The Red Raiders’ 21 sacks through Week Seven match their total from all of last season and ranks tied for fifth nationally.
