Big 12 Conference and Phillips 66 Extend Title Sponsorship of Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments

IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference today announced a multi-year extension of its long-standing sponsorship with Phillips 66, continuing the brand’s role as the title partner of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments. The agreement reinforces Phillips 66’s commitment to college athletics and the Big 12 Conference.

“We are thrilled to continue our historic partnership with Phillips 66 and our Big 12 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments,” said Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark. “Phillips 66’s longstanding relationship has become synonymous with many of the great memories and moments of our basketball tournaments. We look forward to continuing to elevate the experience in Kansas City, alongside Phillips 66, for all student-athletes, programs and fans.”

Phillips 66 has served as the title sponsor of the Big 12's postseason basketball event since the league's inception in 1996-97, making it the longest-running title sponsor in collegiate athletics. During this extension, Phillips 66 will reach 40 years of title sponsorship between the Big 12 and Big Eight Basketball Tournaments.

“Our sponsorship with the Big 12 Conference is a testament to Phillips 66’s enduring commitment to college basketball and the communities that support it,” said Rod Palmer, Senior Vice President, US & UK Marketing, Phillips 66. “For nearly four decades, we’ve championed student-athletes and fans alike, fueling their journeys both on and off the court. Renewing our sponsorship of the Big 12 Phillips 66 Basketball Tournament allows us to continue inspiring the next generation—whether it’s through unforgettable moments in Kansas City or by investing in local basketball courts that bring communities together. We’re proud to help drive the spirit of ‘GO’ in every aspect of the Big 12 experience.”

The Phillips 66 Big 12 Basketball Tournaments return to the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, March 4-14. Women's basketball programs battle for the Big 12 postseason title March 4-8/9, followed by the men's basketball event March 10-14.

Beyond its title sponsorship, Phillips 66 will maintain a strong presence at both tournaments through on-site fan engagement activations, in-arena signage, hospitality, and integration across Big 12 digital and broadcast platforms. The company will also continue its commitment to community-based initiatives such as the refurbishment of community basketball courts, ensuring the impact of the partnership extends well beyond the court.

The extended agreement underscores a shared vision between the Big 12 and Phillips 66 to celebrate student-athlete achievement, deliver first-class fan experiences, and showcase the best of college basketball.
