IRVING, Texas – The 2026 Big 12 softball schedule has been released by the Conference. The 2026 slate features all 11 programs facing eight league opponents throughout the season.
Conference play begins March 5 with the season’s finale scheduled for May 3. Most weekend series will be contested Friday-Sunday, with games featuring BYU slated for Thursday-Sunday. Teams may adjust their schedules for Easter weekend (Apr. 2-5) upon mutual agreement.
The 2026 Big 12 Softball Tournament presented by Allstate returns to OGE Energy Field at Devon Park with games beginning Thursday, May 7, with the tournament’s finale on Saturday, May 9. Formerly known as the Big 12 Softball Championship, this year’s tournament features eight teams competing in the Conference Tournament at the host location of the 2026 Women’s College World Series.
Texas Tech swept the league last year after claiming both the league’s regular season and championship titles. During the program’s historic 2025 run, the Red Raiders claimed their first-ever Big 12 titles, made their first NCAA Super Regional appearance and advanced to the WCWS for the first time in program history before playing in the WCWS Championship Series.
Arizona, Arizona State, UCF and Oklahoma State also represented the Big 12 in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats, Knights and Cowgirls reached the Regional Final at their respective locations.
