BYU, UCF, CU and TCU Capture Final 2025 Big 12 Soccer Honors

BYU’s Mia Lopez (co-freshman) and Izzi Stratton (co-defensive), Colorado’s Reagan Kotschau (offensive), UCF’s Genesis Perez Watson (goalkeeper) and Jada Silvest (co-defensive) and TCU’s Emma Yolinsky (co-freshman) captured the final set of Big 12 Soccer weekly awards for the 2025 campaign.

Kotschau led the league with three points registered in CU’s final match of the 2025 regular season against Kansas. The junior was credited with an assist as teammate Hope Leyba tabbed the game’s first goal in the ninth minute. With the game tied at 1, Kotschau netted the game-winning goal in the 87th minute. The goal was her career-high fifth of the season, while it was her fourth game-winner of the year. Kotaschau claims her first league honor.

Stratton played all 90 minutes during the Cougars’ 2-0 win at Utah. BYU’s back line held its in-state rival scoreless with five shots on goal on 18 total shot attempts as the Utes outshot BYU 18-13 during the match. Stratton was one of two players from BYU to play the whole match as the shutout earned BYU the final spot in the 2025 Big 12 Soccer Tournament Presented by Allstate. This is her first career league honor, while she is the second BYU defender to claim a Conference award this season.

Silvest helped UCF capture its seventh shutout of the season with a scoreless draw against No. 15/6 Texas Tech to finish the regular season. UCF’s defense limited the Red Raiders to five shots on goal in 20 total shots. The win extended the Knights’ unbeaten streak to nine, while the Knights ended league play with a record of 5-1-5. The redshirt sophomore has played 1,608 minutes so far this season, the most by any outfield player for the Knights. Silvest claims her second career Big 12 honor after earning the award a year ago.

Perez Watson and UCF shut out Texas Tech in a 0-0 draw during the regular season’s final match. She had five saves during the contest, which was the third-most caught by the Big 12’s goalkeepers. Perez Watson played every minute in goal for UCF this season and allowed the fewest goals during league play (7) to lead the Big 12 with a .64 goals against average. The redshirt sophomore captured her first goalkeeper honor and her second career Big 12 weekly award.

Lopez’s unassisted goal in the ninth minute put the Cougars on the board during their 2025 conference finale against in-state rival Utah. The freshman totaled 46 minutes on the pitch as she claimed her second game-winning goal of the season. This is her second honor of the season after earning the honor on Oct. 1.

Yolinsky earned her second-consecutive freshman of the week award for Big 12 soccer freshman as her goal solidified TCU’s 2-0 win over Houston last Thursday. With the Horned Frogs already up with a goal, the redshirt freshman added another in the 57th minute to claim the team’s second-consecutive Big 12 regular season title. In her first year of competition, she has scored three goals in the last four matches for a season total of four.
