Week 4 Big 12 Lacrosse Awards Earned by Cincinnati, Colorado, and Arizona State
In Week 4 of Big 12 lacrosse play, Cincinnati’s Lauren Ottensmeyer (Attack) and Paige Selhorn (Freshman), Colorado’s Jess Peluso (Defensive) and Elena Oh (Goalkeeper), and Arizona State’s Anna Viglione (Midfielder) earned Conference recognition.
Ottensmeyer continued her strong offensive play, scoring 12 goals and dishing out 14 points in two games over the weekend. She helped Cincinnati get big wins over Xavier and Central Michigan with a shot on goal percentage of 72 percent.
Peluso was once again a dominant defensive force, causing one turnover and limiting the opponent’s offensive opportunities with two ground balls and seven draw controls.
Selhorn showed off her skills, scoring four goals and gaining eight points to lead Cincinnati to two wins. She also had three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Oh was a standout in goal, posting an impressive save percentage of 66.7 percent with 12 saves to help Colorado beat ranked Army.
Viglione stood out with a career-high 15 draw controls against Saint Joesph’s, making her the only Big 12 player to record 15 draw controls in a game.
