BU’s Ezekiel and BYU’s Halladay-Lowry Secure Big 12 OTF Weekly Accolades

Baylor’s Nathaniel Ezekiel (men’s) and BYU’s Lexy Halladay-Lowry (women’s) earned this week’s Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week honors.

Ezekiel made his outdoor season debut while winning the men’s 400-meter at UCF’s Knights Invite. His mark of 44.75 posed as the nation’s second-fastest time this season and tied for No. 9 in Baylor’s record book. The Bowerman Watchlist selection is the first Bear to reach a program top-10 mark since Wil London did during the 2017 season. This is Ezekiel’s first career outdoor honor.

Halladay-Lowry claims the women’s award in back-to-back weeks after she won the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Payton Jordan Invitational. She finished the event at 9:18.05, the sixth-fastest time in NCAA history and the second-fastest time in BYU program history. In this season’s marks, her time ranks third in the NCAA while it leads the Conference. Halladay-Lowry was also recognized as a USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week.
